Disability Services
It is the policy of Argosy University to make reasonable accommodations for qualified students with disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If a student with disabilities is requesting accommodation, they are asked to make timely and appropriate disclosures and requests. They must register themselves with the Office of Student Affairs and Career Service.  A Disability Services Registration Packet is available to a student upon their request.

Documentation is expected at least six weeks in advance of the class for which the accommodation is being requested. Each student eligible for accommodations and/or services has certain responsibilities to fulfill.  The student must provide the Argosy University, Washington, D.C. Campus with medical or other diagnostic documentation that confirms the following: his/her impairment, the limitations resulting from the impairment, and recommendations for specific accommodations.  Documentation means report based evaluations that lead to diagnosis, within the last three years, by a qualified professional. These and other instructions are detailed in the Disability Services Registration Packet.

Once a student’s registration materials are complete and submitted, the Director of Student Affairs and Career Services will follow-up with the student in writing, within 7 business days, regarding the status of their request. Accommodations are valid for one academic year for eligible students. It is the student’s responsibility to keep their file up to day yearly and to present their faculty with a copy of their Accommodation Letter, once received. In an effort to protect student privacy, the Office of Student Services will not reveal the student’s diagnosis with instructors. Faculty may not make accommodations for students who have not been approved in this manner.
